Wetland Reviewer -Natural Resources Planner II
The main role of this position, as the lead wetland reviewer for the Tidal Wetlands Division of the Water & Science Administration is managing and implementing the laws, regulations, and programs that restore and maintain the quality of Maryland's surface waters and protect tidal wetland habitats and waterways. The work is guided by the Code of Maryland Regulations Title 26, Subtitle 24, Tidal Wetlands Regulations; Code of the Public General Laws of Maryland Title 16 Wetlands and Riparian Rights and the Water Quality Certification requirements of the Water Quality Regulations.
The key responsibilities include, but not limited to:
Reviewing regulated activities impacting jurisdictional wetlands, regulated critical area buffers, and water quality certifications.
Administering the Army Corps of Engineers Maryland State Programmatic General Permit.
Rendering permit decisions and representing the Department in various forums.
Making recommendations on program development and planning projects.
Educating and coordinating with the public and other government agencies.
Assisting in the development and implementation of policies related to the regulation, management, and restoration of tidal wetlands and the Water Quality Certification program.
The incumbent in this position will be required to drive a State vehicle.
Driver’s License: A valid driver’s license with no more than five points is required to operate a State vehicle.
Out-of-State Licenses: If you hold an out-of-state license, you must provide a certified copy of your driving record from the appropriate Motor Vehicle Administration at the time of appointment.
