Regulatory and Compliance Engineer I
The Municipal Wastewater Permit Division within the Water and Science Administration is seeking a Regulatory and Compliance Engineer. This entry-level position is responsible for protecting Maryland’s water quality standards and implementing Federal Clean Water Act requirements. This is a field position and work require visiting sites in the surrounding counties in Maryland. This is a field position, and this role requires visiting various sites throughout the surrounding counties in Maryland.
As a project manager in this role, responsibilities include:
- Writing wastewater discharge permits and implementing Total Maximum Daily Loads (TMDLs).
- Managing the permit issuance process, including the preparation of fact sheets, public notices, and responses to comments.
- Meeting with applicants and interested parties.
- Conducting and participating in public meetings.
- Preparing files for judicial review.
The incumbent in this position will be required to drive a State vehicle.
Driver’s License: A valid driver’s license with no more than five points is required to operate a State vehicle.
Out-of-State Licenses: If you hold an out-of-state license, you must provide a certified copy of your driving record from the appropriate Motor Vehicle Administration at the time of appointment.
